1. What is Finicity?
Finicity is a site where families and individuals can go to find advice, insights and tools that will help them better understand their financial habits. Our goal is to help users find ways to manage, save and enjoy their money.
2. What does Finicity mean?
Finicity comes from “financial” and “city,” implying a community where anyone can go to find answers to money-related issues.
3. What do I get as a member of Finicity?
As a member of the Finicity community, you’ll have access to exclusive features, like our mentor program, groups, forums, polls, blog, personal finance articles and tools, and more.
4. What’s the difference between a member and a subscriber?
A Finicity member has access to all of our free features, which includes access to the community (see question #3). A Finicity subscriber, or premium member, has full access to the community, plus all the benefits and features of our award-winning money management system. 5. How do I join a group or contact a mentor?

6. How do I access the Money Manager?
To access Finicity’s Money Manager you must first subscribe to this service. To subscribe, click any of the Join Now or 30-day Trail buttons located throughout the site. Once you have signed up for your trial period, log in with your username and password. Once you are logged in, you will see a “Launch Money Manager” icon located in the top right corner of your screen. Click this icon to access the Money Manager.
7. How does the Money Manager work?
Finicity’s Money Manager is based on the envelope method of budgeting, where income is divided into various paper envelopes (food, utilities, etc.). Money is taken from the corresponding envelope(s) to make purchases, allowing the individual to know how much money is left and how long it will last. Mvelopes uses a virtual envelope system to allocate funds and links to the user’s financial institutions, which provides a real-time view of spending. See the graphic below for more details:
8. How do I become a mentor?
To be considered as a Finicity Mentor, you must have extensive experience with the Money Manager (or Mvelopes), a sound understanding of money management principles and a passion for helping others achieve their financial goals.
9. How do I make changes to my profile/account?
